Clinical Reformer Pilates In Maple Ridge

Supported Rehab. Progressive Strength. Confident Movement.

Kinesiologist-Led Private Reformer Sessions For Clinical Rehab And Exercise

Clinical Reformer Pilates at Asana Physiotherapy is one-on-one work on a professional Reformer, guided by a Certified Kinesiologist. Sessions support rehabilitation after injury, surgery, or motor vehicle accident, and structured exercise for strength, mobility, core control, and conditioning.

This is not a drop-in fitness class. Each session is built around your body, goals, and stage of readiness. Care happens inside our Maple Ridge physiotherapy clinic, so your program can connect with physiotherapy when that helps.

No membership required. No physician referral needed to book.

Clinical Rehab And Exercise-Based Training

1

Clinical Reformer Pilates is for recovery from injury, surgery, motor vehicle accidents, or ongoing pain. Exercises are modified for your presentation and healing stage, with graded loading and a focus on safe, confident movement.

2

Exercise-based Reformer Pilates is for strength, mobility, posture support, athletic conditioning, or a more structured alternative to generic gym work. Assessment and progressive programming still guide every session.

Many clients move from clinical work into exercise-based sessions as they improve. Your Kinesiologist helps you decide which path fits now.

What Is A Reformer

A Reformer uses a sliding carriage and adjustable spring resistance. You push or pull the carriage with straps, a footbar, or ropes while lying, sitting, kneeling, or standing.

Resistance can start very light and increase as strength and control improve. That makes the Reformer useful for both protected rehab and progressive exercise.

How Clinical Reformer Pilates Works

Instead of a fixed class routine, each exercise is chosen for your goals and how you move. Work stays carefully graded and may progress from basic mobility and control, to stronger spring loading, to movements that mirror work, sport, or daily life.

The carriage supports body weight and guides direction of movement, which can suit whiplash, soft-tissue injuries, spinal and joint issues, and post-surgical rehab when it fits your plan.

Why A Kinesiologist To Guide Reformer Pilates

Sessions are led by a Certified Kinesiologist trained in anatomy, biomechanics, and movement assessment. Your movement is assessed for compensations and load tolerance, not only exercise form.

Programming matches clinical or exercise goals. Load changes based on how you respond. Because we work inside a physiotherapy clinic, sessions can align with your physiotherapist when needed, and progress can be documented for treatment plans or insurer reporting when relevant.

Who It Is For

Why Choose

This Program?

People commonly book for motor vehicle accident recovery, chronic neck, back, hip, or shoulder issues, post-surgical rehab, sports and injury recovery, desk-related posture load, return to activity after time away, athletic conditioning, older adult strength and balance support, and adapted pre- or postnatal training when appropriate.

If you are unsure whether clinical or exercise-based sessions fit better, contact us before you book.

What To Expect

Your first visits cover history, goals, and what you want to return to. Your Kinesiologist then guides private Reformer work matched to rehab or exercise goals, adjusting springs and positions as you go.

Sessions are one-on-one, not group classes. Frequency depends on your plan. Tell your Kinesiologist if something feels sharp or beyond your comfort so the session can be adjusted.
